A week or two ago during my closet spring cleaning, I decided it was time to get rid of some t-shirts from college that I don't wear any more. Not even for pjs. This was a long time coming bc I don't think I had worn the shirts for about three years now, however I couldn't give them up bc they had cartoons on them.... (crickets chirping)... Anyway, you can learn about my personification problem from this post: Time to Separate the Men from the Boys. My solution helped to ease the pain; I turned my t-shirt into a headband! Yay! It solved my attachment issue because I wasn't giving my Felix the Cat T-Shirt away, just cutting it into shreds- oh dear...
Cut five strips
Sew the five strips together at one end (sewing can be done by hand as well)
Tape down sewn end, or place under heavy object
For the braiding, just follow me real quick!
Once braid is finished, wrap around your head. Make sure it is snug. Cut extra.
Sew the two ends together.
Take a rectangular piece of t-shirt to wrap around and cover the head band where the two ends meet. (Optional)
TA- DAH!!!
Let me know how yours turns out! If you've done a D.I.Y. recently- share!
I love comments the way Cookie Monster loves his cookies- nom nom nom!
how cute! wow, i didn't know that you were a seamstress as well! i call myself a fake seamstress because i can only sew basic things. that's pretty cool. this weekend i was supposed to make two shirts, but opted to take two naps instead. ;)
Thanks! It's really so easy too! And you can always use more comfy headbands. If nothing else at least to hold your hair back when you wash your face! haha, let me know if you make one!!!
Thanks Jenn! But you actually don't need a sewing machine, bc the sewing part is very small. I just used mine bc it was out. ;) Thanks for the comment!!! xoxo
