See You Later Alligator

For the longest time I have steered clear of the store Old Navy.  I know it was because of my aversion to their tacky ad campaigns that they had running for the longest time.  The most annoying commercials ever.  So when I would pass the store, I associated tackiness to it.  I knew they had some cute stuff, and for fair to good prices.  But I couldn't get passed the image they had created for themselves.  Once and a while an item would make it's way into my closet somehow, ( I will attribute it to clothes swapping ) and I would eventually seam rip the tag so I didn't have to look at it.  Well folks, they did end up having some memorial day sales that I could not resist, and I have to own up to it.  My husband needed a bunch of new khakis, and this maxi dress stood out like a beacon of light on the way down the aisle.  As soon as I touched the fabric, I knew I had to have it.  100% rayon, soft and silky smooth, very light & cool for the summer months.  So there you have it.  I got my dress at Old Navy, and as I haven't seen any of their commercials in a while, I am assuming they are less annoying, so I can live with it.

  2. That dress was definitely worth breaking your Old Navy ban for! Love the fit and print. I have seen quite a few items from ON on blogs lately (tops especially) and I'm trying not to make any hasty decisions since their stuff usually doesn't fit me that well. The only store I can think of that I'm really not into is Anthropologie. It's just not me and I've never seen anything from there that I wanted.

  6. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with Old Navy too! Not sure why.. sometimes I found a diamond in the ruff and other times I am like "why do I even shop here?" This look is great though! So pretty :)

  7. Awwww, well I am glad you succumbed to your urges, because it would be a travesty for you to NOT own this dress that is so perfect on you! I LOL'd at you ripping off the tags! That's some hatred! I think the only brand I feel that equally angry about is Tory Burch… but that's a whole other story! :) Old Navy is very hit and miss for me. It's great for basics like workout clothes or tees/tanks, but the other stuff can be mass produced cheap feeling to me. Again, hit or miss. The longer it goes until I'm in one again, the more likely I am to find *some*thing I like.

  11. Old Navy commercials are ridiculous, but oddly enough they have kicked their clothes up a notch in the last six months or so. You look gorgeous in that dress...excellent choice! And I'm in love with the sandals!
